Fairies

Fairies are a subgroup of the fey, there are a lot of seperate groups of fairies, between just people with insect wings, to beings profusely magical, there is also a large size variety, though overall they tend to be relatively small, and have insect wings (some can just float), they tend to look somewhat humanoid. while people have attempted to group fairies in groups, like pixies, sprites and spriggans. it's really not a thing, the best way to do it is to say that they are all fairies but have a lot of varying factors as grouping them isn't possible since their attributes are more like a spread then it is a species like grouping. pixies also sometimes have plant or animal like features in their appearance. fairies do not have ordinary reproduction, like a lot of fey, they hold a really weird reproduction type. in the case of the fairies they get pregnant somewhat like normal (though they don’t have a reproductive cycle and getting pregnant seems to have nothing to do with biological compatibility but with simply a want to have a child and bonding for it), fairies are pregnant for a short amount of time(compared to human pregnancy) after which a couple seed like flesh and plant mix orbs are produced, when planted these will within a couple days grow out into a flower which once opened up will have a fairy inside, the fairy being a mix between the bonding (all of them, doesn’t have to be 2) with primarily resembling the one who gave birth. fairies have genders like us in appearance and presentation, but biologically there is no sex, simply a vague line of male and female features split that they fall on, and everybody can theoretically get pregnant which makes it even vaguer, these creatures are simply not human. they have outwardly appearing sex organs in the same way their face and body resembles humanoids, but they are not humanoids, they don’t really hold a strong function and birthing kind of just comes out phasing through the skin.
The theory is that the fairies as their type of fey hold things like quirky natures, the weirdness and uniqueness of life, pranks. though with the more complicated fey like fairies it's impossible to really know.
