Arcano-Active Zone

A region in the genome of the Stoneskin Virus and its synthetic descendants. This region contains highly conserved genetic code that represents DNA-encoded arcane script, allowing for the enchantment of the virus itself as well as any organisms infected with the carrier virus.
A technology was developed called Viral Micro-Enchanting that used this genetic region to inject enchantments into creatures. This has led to the creation of all known magical creatures.
