Dorlan
Located in the northwest of The Remmessian Empire, the city of Dorlan stands at the mouth of the The Brightwater River. It is one of the few parts of the empire to trade with the wood elves of Carnayyan ar Qaelo.
Attack by The Ktharnan Pirates
On 4th Durrinym of Selrun, 276 IC, The Ktharnan Pirates attacked Dorlan on the orders of Hengel Blackeye and with support from the iron shadows of The Wicked Claw tribe. They succeeded in burning a large proportion of the city, capturing Felix Clerebold and framing Captain Lucen Armod to aid in Blackeye's search for The Swan of Quaal. On the same day, although entirely unrelated, Hel Laufeyson, an agent of The Black Network travelling through Dorlan, assassinated Ducarian Odo Arnoris. The Black Network Take Control
Following the chaos of 4th Durrinym of Selrun and the removal of of Odo Arnoris, The Black Network were able to gain effective control of The Hall of Commerce and install a compliant captain of the city watch to replace Lucen Armod. The rebuilding of the city then provided an opportunity for extortion and bribery.Government
Dorlan is principally still run by the descendants of its five founding families, who together make up The Hall of Commerce.
Industry & Trade
Dorlan and The Hall of Commerce have an effective monopoly on the little trade between the empire and the elves of Carnayyan ar Qaelo.
History
Dolan was founded shorty after the end of The War of the Dead by five merchant families: the Clerebolds, the Percivals, the Arnorises, the Hearthfires and the Sindharils, who still make up the city council (known as The Hall of Commerce).
Following The Secession of Allarnus, the founding families of Dorlan were granted an imperial writ to establish trade with the Wood Elves of Carnayyan ar Qaelo in order to help break up the power centralised in Allarnus.
