Gaiaren

Gaiaren is a world broken into four nations, with a central military city-state acting as a pseudo world government. Leylines of natural energy run throughout the land, with man made “key lines” branching off of them to power cities, agriculture, trade, and everything else.   The relationships between the four nations are tense, as they always have been. The central government has little true political influence, but being situated directly above the core of the worlds leyline power provides the city-state of Calphus with unimaginable power. No one knows the true extent of the government's military might, but the fear of the unknown causes each nation to respect Calphus's decrees, for the most part.   Little do it’s denizens know, but as unrest grows and massive events begin unfolding around the world, Gaiaren is on a collision course with destiny, and dark powers are waiting at the hazy edges of reality to strike at the world’s core.
