The Knights of Evander are a holy paladin order founded in the kingdom of Serenvale near its eastern border, devoted to the god Aurelion, the Prime Deity of Justice. Unlike other militant orders, the Knights of Evander balance strength with mercy, embracing the ideal that justice is not only about punishment — but about offering the chance for redemption.
The order was born in the fires of the Demon War, when a mortal man named Atlas Evander discovered the Sword of Zariel, a divine relic containing the soul of the fallen Angel of Mercy. With it, he led a decade-long crusade that culminated in the slaying of Azrakan the Infernal Tyrant and the founding of the Order.

Founding and Purpose

The Knights of Evander were established 350 years ago, during the height of the Demon War that ravaged Gaiafel. Atlas Evander, a humble adventurer, unearthed a celestial sword in the cursed lands of the Scorched Veil. Elven scholars from Fuyukoku confirmed it was the lost weapon of Zariel, the Angel of Mercy, who perished during the Great Betrayal. Her soul remained bound within the sword.
With this divine guidance, Atlas united a band of warriors and embarked on a ten-year campaign that ultimately led to the downfall of the Demon Lord Azrakan. Following the war, he established the Knights of Evander — a holy order built to uphold Zariel’s ideals, prevent future threats like Azrakan, and act as divine protectors of the mortal realm.

Situated near the eastern border of Serenvale, The Pale Hold is a fortress-temple that serves as the spiritual and martial heart of the Knights of Evander. Its white walls gleam with soft radiance, standing watch over ancient demon-scarred lands.

A vast memorial chamber honoring all fallen paladins of the Order. Names are engraved in silver across black stone, with flickering candles and eternal braziers casting solemn light over the tombs. The resting place of Atlas Evander lies at the center.
The Sanctum of Reflection
A tranquil shrine dedicated to Aurelion and Zariel, where knights and pilgrims alike come to seek guidance, meditate, and offer prayers of atonement.
The Argentum Archives
The Order’s great library, holding records of demonkind, celestial law, sacred texts, and moral philosophy, carefully maintained by the Chaplains.
The Path of Atonement
A stone trail lined with white ash trees where Oathlings walk in solitude before taking their final vows.

Role in the Present Day

The Knights of Evander patrol the Gaiafel, support vulnerable communities, and root out demonic remnants and infernal cults across Gaiafel. Though peace endures for now, rumors of dark stirrings—and the silence of Zariel’s sword—suggest a new age of trials may be dawning.
Luke Evander’s pilgrimage may shape not only the future of the Order, but the fate of Gaiafel itself.

Atlas Evander The original wielder of the Sword of Zariel and founder of the Order. A mortal adventurer turned holy champion, he led the charge against Azrakan the Infernal Tyrant and founded the Knights of Evander after the Demon War.
George Evander The fifth in the Evander bloodline to bear the Holy Sword. His prolonged use of Zariel’s blade left him gravely ill. Revered for his wisdom and mercy during a time of growing tensions in Gaiafel.
Luke Evander The current heir to the Evander legacy. Though the sword has not fully awakened to him, Luke has set out on a journey to prove his worth and earn its blessing. Young but resolute, he embodies the ideals of grace, justice, and personal growth.
Alinora Greyvale A seasoned and battle-hardened paladin known for her calm intensity and fierce devotion. Once tempted by vengeance, she found her way back to the light through the teachings of Zariel. Now, she mentors younger knights and commands with quiet strength.
Elion Thamaris The spiritual heart of the Knights of Evander. A former healer and cleric of Aurelion, Elion now serves as the Grand Confessor, guiding the Order in matters of mercy, penance, and divine will. He is believed to receive subtle visions from Zariel herself in dream.
