Tempus Fujiato

A popular economist of early Gaia 19, Fujiato gave rise to the Age of Hope, a time in the '20s when many Vesperians believed that Gaia 19 may well be the "final age," when Paradise would at last be achieved. For much of the early '30s, the '20s were often called the Hopeful Twenties, but this came to an end when Fujiato emigrated to the Sea of Hope, which was undergoing an economic ascent. The term "hope" would be removed from many products, organizations, and cultural phenomena from then on, especially during the Frugal Forties.   Fujiato's legacy would be reclaimed in the late '40s after his death, with the message of "Paradise pending" replacing the prevalence of "hope" in the City of Light.
