Gaia-17

Surprisingly little is known of Gaia-17's political motions, compared to the eras before and after. It is believed that gunpowder was discovered during this time, but the era is best known for the rise of the Sotovarese Empire, whose culture would have an enormous effect on the east and northern thirds of Gaia Protarkas.
What is well remembered is the Sephratic movement, a reinterpretation of the Dead Gods as artistic geniuses of prior eras. Sephratism originated in what is now Greater Usor and quickly spread throughout the continent, still surviving today in various artistic movements. It was characterized by depth and layers in depiction (both on canvas and in stone), as well as an elevation of mortals via their similarities to the Sephra: artistic geniuses elevated to godhood. In this, it was said that all people contained a spark of the divine.
