Stranglers

Hostile Creature

Stranglers are small creatures with hands, legs and tails that resemble vines and roots growing from the swamp trees. Stranglers lie and wait in branches of trees, letting their root like limbs hang free in wait of prey to pass by. Once prey passes by and gets close to the "vines", the strangler makes a jump for it and attacks its victim by chocking them with its tail. A stranglers tail never stops growing, at birth it is nothing more than a stump, but as the strangler ages it can grow to amazing lenghts. Stranglers can be easily fought off when faced alone. In a group, however, they can prove a vicious enemy. The stranglers usually spend entire days and nights resting on the tree branches, but when they don't they will usually swing around the trees looking for wetfruit to eat.
