Moonday
A person’s moonday is the day of the cycle on which a person is born, also sometimes referred to as their birthday. Since the indication of this day in the Dunarian Calendar is linked to the positioning of the two moons, the reoccurring date of the day of the person’s birth is referred to as their moonday.
In many cultures a person’s moonday is a reason for personal celebration. Since a person’s age is determined by their number of moondays, many lifespan related festivities are traditionally celebrated on a person’s moonday. Some examples include:
- Centurion: a tradition in Rodana to celebrate when a person reaches their 100th moonday.
- Go-toshi: a festivity celebrated in multiple places in Xion on a person’s 5th and 55th moonday.
- Namegiving: a Lorian coming of age tradition celebrated on a person’s 17th moonday.
