Great Jerebaist Congregation
The Great Jerebaist Congregation was a religious event of the Jerebaist Church held from the 40th of Earth until the 60th of Earth 1844 RC in the Union of Fhyrir, near the Free City. During the congregation, various important rulers and followers of Jerebaism came together to discuss a common understanding of Jerebaism. Most notably, Jereba himself descended for the occasion, making it the first and only time the God himself entered the world.
Organization
Attending parties
The Great Jerebaist Congregation was attended by a multitude of important parties from all over the Jerebaist world. Any somewhat important figure that officially adhered to Jerebaism was expected to be attending either personally or by delegation. The most important party, however, was Jereba himself. The God descended and took a physical human form, directly communicating with the attending parties. Surrounded by his most loyal inner circle, Jereba led the congregation and gave directions to his followers on how to further spread the Jerebaist faith.Location
The event was held on a specially built city near the Free City. To avoid geopolitical conflicts and tensions, Jereba and his officials decided to order the construction of an entire new city instead of holding the congregation in the Jerebaist main seat Etheria in Thryth. A fairly neutral area near the Free City was chosen to accommodate and welcome as many politically important followers as possible, even if they arrived from rivaling or conflicting territories. Due to the wide personal scope of the attending, including the God and his highest officials themselves, the event had to take extreme protective measures to avoid not only internal hostilities, but also external sabotage from enemies of the church or the attending political stakeholders. Building a new city, specifically designed to protect its attending parties was seen as the most efficient way to ensure waterproof security at the congregation. After the Great Jerebaist Congregation, the location was turned into a temple for pilgrimage and was set open for all followers of Jerebaism.Topics and consequences
The Great Jerebaist Congregation was held to coordinate three particular topics within the Jerebaist world: the internal organization of the church, the external relationship to other religions and the teachings of Jerebaist faith themselves.Organization of the church
During the Great Jerebaist Congregation a clear hierarchical order of the church was established. Due to the long sleep of Jereba, many different structures were founded in the world, resulting in conflicts on hierarchy and organization. During the congregation, one uniform structure was introduced. Jereba formally introduced his inner circle of selected followers who each would represent a branch of the main church and would govern a pert of the world. The main church of Jerebaism would remain in Etheria, but would also be governed by a member of the Jereba’s inner circle, ensuring independence from the political interests of Thryth.External relationships
Jerebaist Conviction
After the reawakening of Jereba in 1605 RC, many places took a hostile position towards the convictionists of Jerebaism, since they refused to follow the will of Jereba himself and even questioned his existence. With Jereba descending, there currently can be no doubt on the existence of the God. Consequently it had been decided on the congregation that the hostility towards the Jerebaist Conviction has to continue, albeit with a somewhat lesser priority.Ruinism
Somewhat surprisingly, Jereba wished for a more hostile position towards Ruinism. Ruinism in its essence claims that the world will go to ruin and its destruction is inevitable. Jerebaism on the other hand, aspired an ascension of this world through the following of Jereba. According to Jereba, these positions are entirely incompatible. Even though this incompatibility between Ruinism and Jerebaism already resulted in a fairly strained relationship between their respective followers, Jereba voiced his wish for an even more direct approach and declared all Ruinists as enemies of Jerebaism. Consequently, all attending parties need to enable the persecution of Ruinists and the diminishing of Ruinism as much as feasibly possible. The Order of Creation
Jereba revealed that Jerebaism and the faith of the Order of Creation do not interfere with each other for now. Oleander wishes for this world to reach ascension and thus has the same ultimate desire as Jereba. While their methods seem to differ, the faiths themselves are not entire incompatible. Thus Jereba wished for a more peaceful relationship between both churches.Other religions
Jereba voiced no position on any other religions. Any disputes will have to be judged on a case by case base and shall be directed by the God’s inner circle. The Jerebaist faith
Dutring the congregation, Jereba and his inner circle answered many questions on the contents and teachings of the Jerebaist faith and how Jereba's Words need to be interpreted and contextualized. The notes made during the Great Jerebaist Congregation have been collected and published as one holy scripture called Jereba’s Directions.
