General Akis

General Rembrant Akis (a.k.a. The Fox)

The current leader of the WarMongers

Early Life

Born in 199.930 on Worle to a family of navy officers, Rembrant Akis was an intelligent and academically gifted young man, if a little physically frail. Graduating a year early from school, he entered navy officer training, like his parents before him, and entered adult life earlier than his peers, but excited for the future.

The Warmongers

In 199.950, twenty year old Akis finds no purpose in his life. The heavy taxes levied by the Covenant and the lack of jobs in the navy due to the excellence of the Kurk pilots lead him into isolation and fringe political groups. Initially simply isolationist in his beliefs, he is radicalized by a small fringe group on Worle, who introduce him to some WarMonger agents and their ideology. Utterly seduced, he joins up as soon as the offer is made.   Over the following twenty years, Akis voraciously climbs the ranks all the way to captain, but each of his successes are squandered by the men in charge, and he grows resentful. In 199.965, Akis deliberately sends the wrong coordinates to teh General's ship, and it is ambushed by a Gerrean patrol. With the General dead, a council is called and Akis is chosen to lead.   He immediately reexamines the organization's purpose. With only meager assets reamaining, he directs his small fleet to look for abandonned outposts in remote parts of Known Space. Soon enough, a patrol reports the discovery of Asteroid P3-N15, which becomes the WarMongers' new Headquarters.   From there, he starts selling the WarMongers' services to rich and influential galactic players, who welcomed the opportunity to use a private and completely disavowable army. With this money, Akis begins a hefty recruitment drive, not just on Worle, but accross Known Space.

The Science Supremacy Operation

In 199.970, General Akis finds an old plan initially drawn up by Dorgal Reakins, founder of the WarMongers. The plan entailed the capture of the finest scientists throughout Known Space, with the intention of putting them to work on new and advanced weapons programs.   With their new assets, the WarMongers successfully capture important scientists from a great many worlds, hiding them in their base on P3-N15. Over the following thirty years, the WarMongers enjoy a period of growth, as they begin to sell some of their research as well as hire out their services.   Some in the organization's ranks question Akis' new mission for the organization, suddenly far removed from the liberation of Worle. Akis, not a man of violence, finds ways of keeping his detractors busy, by giving them lengthy missions to go on, or difficult work only they could manage.

Nomads, again

In 200.001, After the Future Club operation to rescue Dr Maths, one of their kidnapped scientists, from their headquarters, the WarMongers were severely dimished. With the complete elimination of the on site force, General Akis returned with the WarMonger fleet to find the base in the hands of ARKORP.   Rather than pick a fight with one of their former clients, he gathered the remaining WarMonger ships and assets and began a nomadic existence, unknowingly regressing back to the organization's beginnings.
