Whether you’re just getting into all things occult, you’re after an artefact most people would never have heard of, or you just want to have your fortune told, Madame Irranescues is the destination for you.
The shop is really easy to find in the South Eastern district, nestled in amongst a host of great little shops. Don’t expect the dark and dusty ambiance of an occult shop or the overwhelming smell of incense and shawls of a fortune tellers, it blows all of the typical stereotypes out of the water and Cheska and the Madame herself could not be more welcoming or more helpful.
Stock / Services
They stock a wide range of books, curios, artefacts, gemstones and other supplies. Items range from the mundane to the downright obscure In fact, they’re so well stocked if they don’t have it, the chances are, they can locate it for you pretty quickly.
As you’d expect, it’s not just a shop. Madame Irranescue herself and Cheska, her protégé, both offer appointments for Tarot, crystal ball, drake knuckle reading, mediumship and a whole host of other services besides. This includes courses and lessons. If there’s anything you want to learn, just ask. It is, however, strongly advisable to book in advance to avoid disappointment as appointments book up usually weeks in advance.
Madame Irranescue
What can we say about the Madame herself. For such a small person, she is an absolute force of nature. It would be hard not to say no to Madame Irranescue but I can’t imagine a time you’d ever want to. Spend 5 minutes in her presence and It’s clear to see why people gravitate to her shop and want to spend time with her. She radiates warmth and friendship in a way that is very rare in this world. But a word of caution. She is not someone to be crossed and that warm and friendly demeanour can disappear in a heartbeat if you cross the line.
There have been a lot of rumours of late to do with Madame Iranescue herself and, word had gotten out that she had been poisoned and was, in fact, dead. This is purely rumour and speculation and Madame Iranescue is, most definitely, alive. Although she does maintain an uncanny connection to the deceased. Read into that what you will.
Cheska.
Cheska is Madame Irranescues Protégé and has many of her talents, although that is where the similarities end. In every other way they are completely different. Cheska is tall, lean and fair. Where Madame Irranescue naturally becomes the centre of a room, Cheska is much quieter and softer spoken, preferring to take a back seat and let Madame have the spotlight. That being said, she is still very warm and welcoming, just in a softer, quieter way.
