Inkling Bookstore

About   It’s fair to say there has been a bookstore in this location for quite some time, so long on fact that no-one remembers if there was anything there before the bookshop, although it has changed hands a number of times.   Inkling is the latest incarnation of the bookshop and it’s fair to say, the current owners have done a good job with it. They have a good selection of books on a wide range of subjects so chances are, if you’re looking for a book on something, you should be able to find something there. They have a pretty good online presence as well, so you can always have a look online or drop them a message to see if they have what you’re looking for.   Atmosphere   The vibe in there is really relaxed. This is only enhanced by the fact that as well as books, they also have a really good coffee bar in there as well. So you can enjoy a decent cup of coffee while you’re browsing the shelves. They also have a few places you can sit and read if you want somewhere quiet to sit and read. It should also be pointed out that it smells amazing in there, between the wooden bookshelves, coffee and new book smell, it’s heaven.   Clientele   Due to the wide range of books on various and diverse subjects, there really is a range of people who frequent the shop, from younger students to researchers and retired people looking to get out and learn something new. They’re more than happy for you to sit there and work on your latest project as long as you’re still buying the coffee, which is unlikely to be a problem considering it’s good.   As with most places in Neo Birmingham, all are welcome, human, Amaranthian or mechanical. As with most bookshops it’s relatively quiet in there and people keep themselves to themselves. The exception to this is a saturday afternoon when the coffee shop gets busier but it’s always relaxed and friendly and the staff will always help if they can.   Other Services   The shop is primarily a bookshop first and a coffee shop second. They do also offer services to locate books if there’s something you’re looking for that they don’t have. The only other service you can get through there is Dr Ilyara Zeigler’s clinic. Dr Zeigler is the owner of the bookshop and runs her psychiatry and hypnosis clinic above the bookshop. Enquiries for her services can be made either to the Dr directly or via the bookshop.
Opening Hours   Unusually for a bookshop but usually for the area, they are generally open quite late so if you suddenly get a late night urge to learn more about quantum physics, the occult, cooking or history, the chances are they’ll be open.
