Harborne Racetrack

History   Harborne Racetrack has been around for over a century. It was, in it's heyday, one of the official racetracks of the Neo Terra Planetia Motor trials. Around 50 years ago the races moved away to a newer facility in Neo Manchester. For many cities loosing the main source of income would have been the death knell, but actually, it was the making of Harborne. With the official races no longer being held there, the locals were free to take over the track and this is exactly what they did. The Harborne track is now one of the most respected and popular amateur tracks in the UK.   Current use   The track was designed for and is used almost exclusively by bikes, both motorbike and Grav bike. For the most part races are not limited to one or the other and so you will see a mix of the two in each race. If there are enough of one or the other then specific races are possible.   The racetrack is currently in operation Tuesday through Sunday with races every half hour from 10am to 10pm. Mondays the track is closed for repairs. Rumour has it that some corporations hire the track on a Monday for testing prototypes.   For the most part the races are the standard, head to head races with six riders max per race. There are time trials and death races. Once a month they host a rally which leaves the Harborne compound at around 11am, usually returning at around 2-3pm. Although the race is outside the compound, drones follow the race and beam the images back to screens inside the racetrack.   Every three moths there is also a series of endurance races with three categories of One, two and Three hour races.   Rules   1) No weapons unless explicitly authorised (EG Death Race) 2) No property destruction 3) No purposeful bodily harm 4) Grav bikes; No higher than 15ft off track   Running people off the track is allowed Tricks are allowed providing they do not break any of rules 1-4   Anyone wanting to race on more than a one-off basis you will need to join the Harborne Racing Association   The Game Master   The Game Master is the person in charge of the racing at Harborne. Her word is law and her decisions are final.    The current Game Master is Marbella. An older African woman with dreadlocks. She is well respected in the area and known for being fair and impartial in all her decisions. She knows all of the local racers and has a goo memory for faces so if you've been there a few times she'll likely remember your face. She's the mother of the racetrack and all of the riders have a soft spot for her so bear that in mind if you want to start disagreeing with her.
