Aster Yuan-ti have a third eye that they can use to detect magic at will. Becuase of this skill must of the race had a tendency to lean towards magic. They also had latent telepathic abilities, but these rarely manifested or did so in subtle ways

The Aster Yuan-ti were the pioneers of enchantment, with their third eye making it possible see the flow of the weave at all times, they manipulated with ease and created many wonders that have become mostly lost today. They at one point had successors to their enchanting prowess in the form of the Kingdom of Estora, which inherited many of there enchanting secrets, but much of that was also lost when Estora fell.
There two most notable technologies were The Fabricated and special vault like enchanting that ensured that only those of a certain bloodline could enter specific areas. The later was another technology that was used be Estora, while The Fabricated were expanded upon within the Vaal empire to create the Warforged
Major Language Groups and Dialects
They had their own spoken and written language, however those of the species with latent telepathic abilities would commonly 'auto-translate' for those around them when interacting with diffrent races, making them prime people to hold ambassador positions
History
The Aster Yuan-ti race was cultivated by the Medusa Cynthia Fazz, and they existed willingly under her rule having created a vast empire that spanned the whole of Corrvis and even had fortresses in remote locations. This was known as the Wultan empire and it stood strong for nearly 500 years. Their empire came to a sudden and brutal end however as the whole Wultan empire suffered from multiple catastrophes occurring at the same time. The empire did not even stand a single year of this and the Aster Yuan-ti were wiped out by multiple factors, leaving them mostly forgotten to history
In a last ditch effort to preserve there empire, the Aster Yuan-ti had developed special chambers enchanted to slow the passage of time, and these were hidden away in secret bunkers with ambassadors of their race to occupy them, but this project was a failure when it was later revealed that the enchantments were tampered with resulting in the failure of most, while the rest succumbed to erosion or wildlife over the centuries
Common Myths and Legends
They had all believed that Cynthia Fazz was a mortal god and no matter what happened would one day rise and claim her rightful place as a major god
