Sugarcoon

Candied Mayhem Florabeast

Originating in the tropics of Asia but now found all around the world, the Sugarcoon is one of the most prolific Florabeasts, and also one of the most troublesome. Possessing dexterous fingers and keen eyes, they hunt down all manner of sugary treats, from honey to prepared candies, even jellied fruits and berries. While they do not consume the sugar sources that they find, they will hoard them in burrows, seemingly wanting to keep the treats to themselves. Searching for abandoned Sugarcoon nests is a common pastime for children, especially since they can keep the spoils for themselves.

Sugarcoon are also prized by Guardiners for their cunning and agile natures, not to mention their thick, striated hides that protect them from most harms.

Name Explanation
The "cane" in sugarcane matched with the "coon" in raccoon. Also, there's a group of fictional raccoons that act much like this Florabeast when it comes to sugar, and you can read about them here.
