Hydra'angea

Many Blooms Florabeast

A highly curious Florabeast, the Hydra'angea resembles a large legless serpent, slithering along the ground, with a total of nine different heads all connected to the main body. Each of these heads is crowned with a cluster of flowers, the color of which changes from blue to pink depending on the quality of the soil that the Florabeast last rooted in.

Each of the nine heads seems to share the will of the beast as a whole, and no planters have ever noticed their creatures in any sort of discord when it comes to decisions. The sensory organs on each head do work in concert, which allows the Florabeast to essentially see in all directions around it simultaneously.

Even more contradictory, while the central essence of the Florabeast is classified as sweet, the sap is actually very caustic and can cause severe harm if  brought into contact with any living thing. This is unlikely to happen accidentally, however, as they are covered in a hard, scaly bark that helps shield them and their planters from harm. In yet another contradiction, this normally hazardous sap is the primary ingredient in a potent medicine used to treat digestive disorders.

Name Explanation
The name of the plant contains the name of the mythical animal, although it is pronounced differently. The many-headed serpent called the hydra is typically associated with Greek mythology, although there is a serpent with multiple heads in Chinese lore called the Xiangliu, which shares the trait of caustic blood with its Mediterranean counterpart, and with this Florabeast.
