Choyote
Adaptable Trickster Florabeast
The Choyote has a long history in the mythologies and cultures of the New World; tribes of people from the Long Lakes to Yucatan have revered them for their unique balance of strength and speed. This flexibility comes not only from the animal part of its nature, but also the vegetable. Chayote squash are nutritious but largely bland, and lend themselves to multiple different flavors and cooking methods in cuisine and Gastrology.
Like other Florabeasts that share forms with predatory animals, Choyotes do not hunt and kill other animals or Florabeasts, but can still be taught by their planters to use their animal ferocity to protect. Many tribes of People still use them as the bulk of their forces when making war on other groups.
Even with human cultivation, many wild Choyotes still roam all corners of the New World, and will harass wild and tame Florabeasts seemingly for sport. Care must be taken no matter what.
