Avocadillo

Hard & Soft Florabeast

A jolly Florabeast, always willing to help those in need. A tough black shell covers their back, head and limbs, speckled with tiny bumps that give it a unique texture when touched. The underside of its body is a bright green and much softer than the shell. While it commonly walks along on four legs, it is capable of waddling along on its hind legs at a casual walking speed. The segments of its shell slide across one another, enabling it to roll up into a tight ball for defense against predators. If given a sufficient running start, it can roll for some distance in a ball, and even bounce across hard surfaces.

The hard seed at the core of the Avocadillo is very important to it, and it will do nearly anything to prevent anyone from touching it, even their planter. Many Avocadillo will expire while balled up, requiring time for their bodies to decompose before the seed can be retrieved and replanted.

Name Explanation
Avocado and armadillo sound similar and have the same number of syllables. The hard exterior of the avocado lends itself well to the hard shell of the armadillo.
