Summer Camp 2021 Pledge Document

How time flies since the first Summer Camp I participated. I've almost forgotten the very thing that kickstarted my love to writing and worldbuilding once more. I dove into the prompts without a plan, my worldbuilding was everywhere and inconsistent, and honestly, I am ashamed that I didn't know about my world(s). It's so easy for my energy to dwindle since then, but I will try my best regardless. This world and story is personal to me. The least I could do is to bring some life to it...

I've met with some of the most wonderful people here and started streaming because of the motivation. Work has been piling up on my side, sadly, and truth to be told, I had been neglecting my health because of it. I still try to make bits of notes here and there and reforming my characters. I took some time to rereading my articles, deleted some that didn't seem relevant to my world. Though I don't expect myself to be as active as I used to be last year, I'm hoping that progress is still there.

Which project are your worldbuilding efforts tied to?

Winter of Ashes is undergoing a second draft rewrite ever since I finished the first book during NaNoWriMo 2020. I'm hoping to polish it more, from its worldbuilding to characters and plot. The plot was... well, interesting if you know what I mean. So I'm revamping the characters to prevent any more escapades.

What world are you working on?

Memoria. Though I have Earth 2117, I'm afraid I need to shelf it for a while until I am fully equipped with research and knowledge in scientific and robotics stuff. Memoria is my first serious world that I want to build.

Which area of the world(s) are you working on?

Everything. I'm working on a soft reboot of the world. So far I've come up with a proper magic system, government, situation, pantheon and brief history of the world. I've also made notes on the characters to further develop them properly and creating arcs that would at least make them relevant on the long run.

How much are you aiming to complete?

If I'm being completely honest, 31 prompts. I managed to get Diamond last year through, I don't know, the sheer joy of it? Now that this year is reduced, I'd have ample time to catch up with each prompt answered at 250 words each. But in any case, Bronze would be realistic.

When will you write?

My motivation and inspiration comes when its super late at night here which would be 1-3AM UTC +8. Prior to that, I would be working on assignments, or play games with my friends after a long boring day. I don't know how my brain works that way either.

Who is your support network?

I've been missing from social medias so long other than for assignment sake, hahah. I don't want to give hopes that I would be actively participating but my best bet would be my friend from Sarawak because I often discuss my stories and character arcs with her. Hopefully she can stand me yapping every night.
