Royal Guard
The Royal Guard is a group of professionally trained security that are responsible in protecting the king or queen during crisis. They are consists of the noblemen first born that are obligated to serve the king until their end of days. They live in the barracks specially for the royal guards. They are identified with a sword on a red banner with a single star on the sword.
Composition
Manpower
Due to the nature of recruitment, the highest number of Royal Guard in disposal is 500 with backup guards at 100 people. This is derived from the fact that not many nobles are willing to let go of their first born let alone having any children. Thus, sometimes the guards will consist of second born or first born female if males are unavailable.
Weaponry
The general weapons the Royal Guard carries are the spears and flintlocks. This is mostly because nobles refuse to touch criminals, especially the Feras, and thus, the usage of spears are to carry the bodies or shove them into bags. The flintlocks are mainly for show, though there have been instances that they were used to apprehend or injure a criminal to be brought for interrogation.
A higher ranking Royal Guard would be carrying swords in place of spears. The swords are forged from the best metal and the best blacksmith. Usually, they guard the monarchs directly.
Training
Weapon maintenance is a must in the guard. Firearms required an extensive care to avoid blockage before shooting in order to avoid any accidents. Spears need to be sharpen once there were weariness in the blades. Once they are able to grasp the basics, combat training will take place regularly. Usually three times per week against their instructors, or their colleagues to keep them in shape and ready to face an opponent.
