Bombacio

"It seems the Provectors overdo every little thing. Even their clothes have tons of detail in design. Most of their clothes are made of this peculiar material called "Bombacio". It's this orange cotton-like material that's sewn into the woolen jackets to trap heat inside of the clothes. The Provectors brag about the plant growing this substance only being found in the mountains. The reason the plant grows this is to conserve energy and heat during the cold and dark areas of the mountains. This gives the plant very little competition for energy, allowing it to absorb the sunlight and the nutrients in the soil. I'll try to grab a sample back to Caesellius Vindex so we can try to grow it for our experimentation. The operation will be difficult though, as the few nurseries are well-guarded. But this plant could revolutionize how we make clothes for our soldiers. I'll just have steal like Provectus does to Vindexians." - Edith Scourge (A Vindexian Spy)

Properties

Material Characteristics

Bombacio resembles a piece of cotton dyed orange. The color can turn yellow if the plant growing it is unhealthy.

Physical & Chemical Properties

This material holds extreme heat-retaining properties. This makes it useful for keeping people warm in the freezing Provector winter, or just normal weather in Provectus.

Geology & Geography

This material is found inside of shrubs that grow on the mountains, these plants glow bright green against the white snow in the background.

Life & Expiration

Like a flower plucked from its stem, the Bombacio will wilt over time and must be replaced.

History & Usage

Everyday use

Bombacio is used inside of jackets manufactured by Provectus. A small slit in the jackets is present in order for the owner to replace the wilted Bombacio.

Manufacturing & Products

Jackets, hats, boots, and most apparel can be made using this as stuffing.
