Kalextus Candlekeep grew up as an orphan in the House of Wonder in Waterdeep and was raised by the acolytes and scholars there. He is now setting out into the world to gain real world experience, magical knowledge, stories to tell, and friends to share an adventure with.

Education
Growing up in the House of Wonders gave Kalextus a very extensive and lore heavy education. With countless clergy, scholars, and mages to consult and access to the temple's libraries and studies allowed Kalextus to learn quite a bit in terms of arcane and academic knowledge. That being said, he has very little street smarts.
Employment
Kalextus is employed as a researcher of the House of Wonder, though he has recently taken a vacation from his research job and is currently employed as an abjurer in Emberlight's Travelling Circus to help with arcane security as part of Kalextus's desire to see the world and gain some real world experience.
Mental Trauma
Kalextus witnessed the rebirth of the evil god Moander first hand as well as several friends and a whole town being sucked down into Ravenloft.

Kalextus has a very strong sense of right and wrong. In terms of philosophy he has come across many philosophies he's found in his studies, though while he learned ideas from them he doesn't strictly live by any. That being said, he has a tendency to seek knowledge and context before taking action in most scenarios.
