Humans

Humans are non-eternals with a long lifespan, with many of them living past a quarter century. While capable of compassion, they tend not to show any amount of it toward the land that they live on or the creatures thereon. While not native to Foundria, they have settled a large portion of its coastline and inland.   They sustain themselves on the island's wildlife and by purifying sea water in their many factories.   They refine metal ore that they mine near the shore for most of their material needs. They refine and manipulate this ore in their foundries which are fueled by wood.   Though their lifespans are long, they used to be longer. They used to regularly live well over half a century until the smog produced by their factories and foundries started to run rampant, effecting their health. The humans remain blissfully unaware of the health effects of the smog, with many of them not even aware that humans used to live for so much longer.   Humans value trees as an unrenewable resource, believing all of the trees to have been present since the beginning of the world and that no new trees will ever be made. Because of this, they actively refuse to use trees for anything except to power their factories and foundries, for which they have no other fuel. There have even been rare cases where people have been assaulted, and even killed, for attempting to use wood for anything else.   Many humans have displayed the traits of self-induldgence and arrogance and have been known to act extremely selfish when they believe that they can gain something of value. Because of this, it is believed that they would not behave as most creatures would if met with an eternal - with respect and understand of their respective places in the world.
