The Land Mother

"Eat from my stomach, and take root in my heart." -Psalm 12 of The Book of The Tree   The Land Mother is worshiped by numerous Druids and Races of the land that share a belief in The Bounty of The Harvest, The Purity of The Trees, and The Respect Owed To The Ocean.     The Land Mother is almost never depicted as humanoid, more an abstracted amalgamation of natural elements that are worshiped together.   The Land Mother Herself is faceless, Nameless, and Though often seen as feminine due to their name is in fact genderless having no physical form.

Divine Origins

It Is Said that on The Last Day of The Dales, as The Great Forrest Fell, The Trees Themselves left behind three holy texts made from their bodies: A Legacy to leave.   These were The Three Books of The Land Mother: The Book of The Tree, The Book of The Sea, and The Book of The Wind.   Over time, these Scriptures were spread and their virtues became the Chantry of The Land Mother.

Tenets of Faith

Followers of The Land mother believe several tenets universally:   That Land Cannot Be Owned; but rather the land is alive and shared by all living creatures.   That Undeath Must Be Destroyed; as it is a perversion of The Natural Order   That You Should Take No More Resources Than You Need; For to over indulge The Mothers Bounty is theft   That You Shall Not Waste; rejecting gifts of The Mother is to put yourself above The Land   That You Shall Protect The Endangered Creatures; The Mothers Children Most In Need are your charges by Birthright

Worship

Ritual Worship of The Land Mother is very diverse and varied. From Ritual Hunts of Overpopulated Herds, to Festivals of Planting new Trees in The Land, to Agricultural Harvest Rites, The Books of The Land Mother outline rituals that all people can follow as they find desirable.

Priesthood

Clerics of The Land Mother are not created by any particular organization. To become cleric of The Land Mother one generally, but not exclusively, will participate in a Ritual of The Old Forrest, as is outlined in the books of Scripture: The Book of The Tree, The Book of The Sea, and The Book of The Wind. These mysterious Scriptures are said to have once appeared in The Dales on their last day, as the Trees Fell it was a gift that was left behind.

Granted Divine Powers

Devout Adventurers of The Land Mother are often Druids, or Life Clerics, Though they will also grant power to Paladins and Sorcerers if The Books of The Land Mother are to be believed.

Political Influence & Intrigue

Nearly Every Region of Fortur has Children of The Trees among their lands, though The Ideology of The Land Mother doesn't explicitly suggest Political Power as a goal, the popularity of The Theology has made many Political Figures followers.

Sects

Most Followers of The Land Mother are unique but united, with one notable exception: The Thorn Clouds.   The Thorn Clouds are seen as Radicals, They see The Death of The Dales as a malicious act by the peoples of The Land, a betrayal of The Land Mother. The Thorn Clouds are environmental Terrorists: They seek to actively destroy all modernisms of Industry to return The Land to a State of Nature that can allow for the Return of The Dales.
