As we start to trek eastward across the ruins and then north, we are immediately set upon by six large, bat-like, flying creatures. I have never seen a monster like this. They have pincers for toes and needle-like beaks which enable them to pierce and hold onto those of us they successfully land upon and impale. Mairon is able dispatch five of them using his cone of fire, and Alden kills one by arrow.
After a short rest, we continue onward to the ruins.
We finally reach what appears to be the ruins of an old fortress of some type. We see a crumbling wall with decayed towers surrounding an old well. Out of sync with the decomposing citadle surrounding it is also a colorful, very new looking tent.
We are soon accosted by a necromancer we later find was named Hamun Kost. He has us attacked by twelve zombies under his control. We spend a lot of time and energy fighting the zombies until Mairon takes out the necromancer. Once he has gone down, we are able to defeat them quickly and easily.
Entering the tent, we find it contains a cot, a writing desk, some supplies, and a locked chest.
