Sherdal

A sherdal is a huge featherd predator. It is a combination of a hawk and a bear. Its feet are two sharp claws infront and two bear paws in the back. The body is a bearlike with feathers and huge wings on the side. It has a hawkish head with a big curved beak and sharp eyes. At its back it has a long bird tail. With their bearlike strength and their hawklike speed they are the kings of the air. They defend their territory when intruders or others of their kind cross. That makes them to a nightmare of the flying traders who try to avoid known sherdal areas. When encountering an airship a sherdal rushs onto it from above. While landed they try to destroy the steam powered lift generation. But through the development of better airships it is quite uncommon that they sink one.
