Forlorn

Second Age of Gulliman Year 365

Created by

My name is Sati Ali and I am proud to share Forlorn with you. My attempt at creating a place where depth equals width. A living breathing world to explore that is very different from our own and possesses some of the same hurdles that we face every day in our lives. This has been a project of mine for about six years and is in no way my brainchild at conception. I was introduced into this then-unnamed world by a close friend who decided to DM for our group of bored post-high-schoolers. When he went away, I took the reigns and began to build on top of what he laid out to become Forlorn.   I have begun this project to give light on a number of things.

  • The possibility of having a fantasy world as diverse and deep as our own. With cultures who have lived and died, languages, and mathematic systems. Dates lost to time and ancient civilizations. The wonder of fantasy within the fantasy world.

  • Introduce the idea of 'yes' instead of 'no' quintessentially to this setting of D&D. The number of possibilities is literally endless. Have a race you really like? Slap it on in here. Have a location you'd love to use? Same deal. Sure, things will have to be tweaked to work to the best of their strengths but those are simple tweaks.

  • Without taking the magic out of the setting, make a gritty realistic reality that still holds that magic-toting fantasy element.
