Seafaring States- Respite

Island History, Culture and Description

Respite is a mid sized island, located in the south western corner of the Sea Faring States. It is known for being a small relaxing island where one can leave most troubles of the world behind, and many have come to the island seeking a fresh start.
Important Characters

Govoner Kathrine Bromley- Aniras mother, she is a very beloved leader of the island. She has worked hard against Company interests, and has maintained a high level of living for the citizens of the island. She is also extremely beautiful and was highly sought after until she settled with her husband.
Commander Geralt- an older human man in his early 60’s. He served in several roles in the Dominion, and has semi retired here on the island, looking for a more quiet post with less dire responsibilities in his later years. He is however very experienced, and fiercely loyal to the govoner.

Janus- a Raven Queen missionary, he has been attempting to convert the island citizens to worshiping the Raven Queen and the other 2 gods of the Dominion. However he has not had much success, as the island is not particularly religious as is quite context with their own traditions and do not wish for the rather demanding worship he is asking for. As a result his is a kind, but discouraged man.

Jeena - Keeper for the town. She is an older woman, aunt of govoner Bromley. She is not outwardly affectionate, and can come across sold sometimes, but does care deeply about the island and it’s people. She is very good with numbers and does her job well.
Alder- The Company's Representative on the island, he is an older man, in his late 60's. he is calm and very agreeable, a seeming voice of reason. he is however ruthless in business, and falls into much of the same patterns as other Company men, including his enforcer Lienos. Lienos- the Company's enforcer on the island. He patrols the dcks and ensres that Company business remains profitable.
Captain Oreleos- captain of the Starlight, he is a smuggler and an old friend of James Bromley. He is in his mid 50’s, with a large set of greying sideburns and dressed in a ragged blue captain’s uniform from the Seafaring States Navy.

Blacksmith- a large worship down at the dockyards run by a human named Rolfe.
Marques- an elvish man down on his luck, Marques was once a head accountant for the Company. However after caught embezzling, he was fired and now runs a small store of questionable legality out of the side streets in the city center. He is dressed in expensive but ruined clothing.
General store- Run by a Bedoin Human man named Sorrell. he traveled here from Kreeturn a few years ago and has been making a healthy living here.
Food (butcher, baker, ext)
Fishes Tail Tavern and Inn- run by James Bromley (Aniras father), who also operates a small fishing vessel out of the southern hamlet.
Jeweler
Exports- Pearls and fish, as well as being a rest stop for ships.
