Dominion- Avalon

City History, Culture and Description
The city of Avalon is located in the center of the Red Loch (so named after a terrible battle between humans and dwarves in ancient times where the whole lake turned red). The city itself is divided in two parts, with a series of rural farming villages located on the eastern banks of the loch, and the crowded city on the center island in the middle of the loch. It is a trade city and a meeting point between the Dominion and the Three Peaks Kingdom, meaning there is a very strong cultural mix of the two races. The city itself is known as a transition from Dwarven territory to Dominion control, but also for its vast farming community that exists outside the city on the eastern banks of the lake.
Important Characters
Law Maker Destrian Woodleaf- a 47 year old male human. He has short, curled, black hair and brown eyes. He spent time as an ambassador in the Three Peaks Kingdom, and is very friendly, making himself readily available to the people of the city. He has a small family, a wife and a young son.
Commandant Thrari Bronzehide- a 179 year old male hill dwarf. He has short, curled, black hair and red eyes. He stands 4'0" tall and has a beefy build. He has an oval, typical face with a gigantic, braided moustache and no beard. He gestures profusely during a conversation. He was the former commander of Iron Brigade in the Rolling Hills before being promoted to what he sees as a desk job here in Avalon. Has more than a few connections in the military, both in the Dominion and the Three Peaks Kingdom.
Ravenite Emeline Redstream- a 35 year old female human diplomat. She has sharp features, braided auburn hair and dark brown eyes. She studied under Alistair, and is very bookish, spending lots of time in her small personal library.
Book Keeper Arabella Keenseeker- a 41 year old female human. She has short, wavy, brown hair and brown eyes. She is an old friend and former personal assistant to Ravenite Emeline, and followed her here to take up the job opening.
Atur Brightbeard- leader of the local gentleman's gang, he is a 304 year old male hill dwarf bandit. He has a bald head, 5'0" tall and has a beefy build. He has a rather ugly an scarred face with a long goatee. He served in the Iron Brigade, but was discharged for stealing military equipment.
Local Quests
Guarding the Fields- pays 15 silver a day, double if attacked, weekly shifts
Caravan Protection- pays 15 gold for an escort down the Avalon River to Cameris, 10 gold upriver to Virahm, 10 gold to Strumguard (only  days travel, but lots of bandits looking to plunder dwarven tresure), or 10 gold down the Raven Run to Ravencrest.

Notable Buildings And Districts
Center City- located on the main and largest island, it holds the market and shopping district, along with the city keep and most government buildings.
The Garrison- one of the smaller islands, located north west of the main, it is a large fortress where the military barracks is located.
The Warrens- a series of smaller islands on the southern and eastern side of the main island where most of the housing and residential districts are located.
The Farmlands- located on the eastern shores, it is a transition zone from the dangerous forest to the stony hills which makes it the bread basket of the dominion.
Shops
Steelbacks Swords and Stuff- a large open air blacksmith, with a moderately sized shop built into the side. It is run by Gulnar Steelback, who is a middle aged male mountain dwarf blacksmith. He has short, straight, golden hair shaved on both side and golden eyes. He works with his father, a gnome named Arwin who is getting on in years and is beginning to loose it a bit, and his weapon enchantments have become less sensible as a result. Arwin is dressed in a bright blue robe with fraying edges and covered in stains, with pure white hair and slightly crossed eyes.
Shady dealer- A small general store located on the outskirts of the main city, run by Asher Lunadream, a 30 year old male human. He has short, braided, golden hair and dark eyes.
Blacksmith- an open air workshop located near the eastern docks, run by Jude Morningfall, a 38 year old male human blacksmith. with cropped, wavy, black hair and brown eyes. Jude's family has owned the workshop for several generations and enjoys providing service for the poorer members of the city.
Healing and potions- a small shack located near the farming fields where a young gnomish women named Celwin Spriggs lives. She is a poition maker and a healer, who loves spending time in the untamed wilderness that exists on the other side of the river.
General store- a rather large building located in the main shopping district run by Desmond Duststone, a 40 year old male human. He has a bald head and has lost many of his teeth from several bar fights he'[s been involved in. He is also a heavy drinker and can often be found drinking in the various taverns of the city. as a result most business is conducted by his 17 year old son Peter, who is handsome but rather soft spoken.
The Ruby Flask- a smaller building that's painted a dark red, run by a halfing women named Damay Gelnne, who moved here from the Rolling Hills after the death of her husband. She is older, grey hair pulled up in a bun and a small pair of glasses that rest on her nose. She serves light alcohol, but prefers to serve tea and very good food.
Crossed Swords Tavern- a rough but well built tavern run by a dwarven couple Thorin and Zigal Wraithmail. Thorin served under Commandant Bronzhide in the Iron brigade, before retiring here in the city to perfect his brews, which he is constantly trying out on his customers. His wife runs the food and takes care of the rooms. Thorin has large dark, but slightly greying beard and a balding head. His wife Bodeka is beautiful by dwarvish standards, with long black hair and a beautiful, motherly smile.
Jeweler and appraiser- a small building with a bit of a weathered sign up front, run by Caresta Sharondalan, a 104 year old male elf. He has long, wavy, silver hair and brown eyes. He worked with dwarfs in the mines for many years, but the dirt and grim was eventually too much for him so he made his way here as an appraiser of gems and other unique items.

Margaret Boulderdown is a 29 year old female human farmer. She has very long, curled, black hair and golden eyes.
Simon de Bolbec is a 62 year old male human farmer. He has short, wavy, silver hair and brown eyes.
Tiny Chilly is a 41 year old male stout halfling farmer. He has very long, straight, golden hair and blue eyes.
