Illuskan Culture

Common Half Elf Culture

Dragon Slayer

You have studied dragons and methods to hunt them for many years.

  • Increase your Strength or Dexterity score by 1, to a maximum of 20.
  • You have advantage on attack rolls against Large or larger creatures.
  • You can automatically identify locations built or used by dragons and can identify dragon eggs and scales by sight.
  • If you fail an Intelligence check to recall lore relating to dragons, you know someone or some book you can consult for the answer unless the DM rules that the lore is unknown.

Foresight of their Kindred

You possess a measure of the foresight that your ancestors possessed in full.

  • Your Wisdom score increases by +1.
  • Once per short rest you can gain advantage on any initiative roll.
  • When subjected to any effect that allows a Wisdom or Intelligence save, you may make an Insight check instead.

Uthgardt Lineage

You belong to one of the Uthgardt tribes. You have an excellent knowledge of not only your tribe’s territory, but also the terrain and natural resources of the rest of the North.

  • Increase your Strength or Charisma score by 1, to a maximum of 20.
  • As a bonus action, you can choose to reveal your lineage. When you do so, choose a number of friendly creatures (which can include yourself) within 30 feet of you who can see or hear you, up to twice your proficiency bonus. Until the end of your next turn, each creature gains advantage on attack rolls and Charisma (Intimidation) checks, and is immune to being frightened. It also gains temporary hit points equal to your choice of your Strength or Charisma modifier (minimum 1). These temporary hit points last until they are depleted or the creature finishes a short or long rest. Once you use this virtue, you cannot use it again until you finish a short or long rest.
  • You are familiar enough with any wilderness area that you find twice as much food and water as you normally would when you forage there. Additionally, you can call upon the hospitality of your people, and those folk allied with your tribe, often including members of druid circles, tribes of nomadic elves, the Harpers, and the priesthoods devoted to the gods of the First Circle.

Strength of Will

You have been raised in a land dotted with desolate ruins and burial mounds. You have heard the dead whisper with cold voices out of lonely barrows, while ghostly lights dance on haunted hills. When your will strengthens your heart, there is hardly anything in this world that can dismay you.

  • Increase your Wisdom or Charisma score by 1, to a maximum of 20.
  • You have advantage on Charisma saving throws.
  • Whenever you must make a Charisma saving throw, you gain a bonus to the saving throw equal to your Wisdom modifier (minimum +1).

Ways of the Wild

For you, the Wild has become as familiar as the road that leads home is familiar to Halflings, and the land itself may reveal useful tidings.

  • Increase your Wisdom score by 1, to a maximum of 20.
  • You gain proficiency in one of the following skills of your choice: Survival, Animal Handling, or Nature. If you are already proficient in each of them, you add double your proficiency bonus to checks you make with one of them of your choice.
  • When you make a Wisdom check using a skill in which you are proficient, you can obtain a magical success. You can do so a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.

Ancestral Spirit

You have ties to the long-dead spirit of one of your clan's ancestors, who whispers ancient words of wisdom into your mind in times of need.

  • Increase your Wisdom score by 1, to a maximum of 20.
  • Anyone you heal receives an extra 2 points of HP.
  • You have advantage on Intelligence (History) checks related to the Uthgardt tribes.

Arctic Adaptation

You have adapted to the snowbound environment of the arctic reaches of Faerûn.

  • Increase your Constitution score by 1, to a maximum of 20.
  • You have Resistance to Cold damage and can tolerate temperatures of 0 degrees Fahrenheit or lower without any additional protection.
  • You ignore Difficult Terrain created by ice or snow.

Jotunbrud

You are descended from the giants who ruled the mountainspanning empire of Ostoria in ages past, and possess a truly impressive stature.

  • Increase your Constitution or Strength score by 1, to a maximum of 20.
  • Your size increase by one when you Grapple or are Grappled.

Gory Finish

By drawing upon wells of savagery, you can slay your foe in creative and horrifyingly gruesome manners, intimidating nearby foes.

  • Increase your Strength or Constitution score by 1, to a maximum of 20.
  • If you reduce your target to zero hit points, you can spend a bonus action to make an Intimidation check to demoralize all foes within 30 feet who could see your attack.
  • All foes failing this check suffer disadvantage on their next attack against you
