The Black Fleet

The Black Fleet is a Naval arm of the Dwarven Navy, under the Lake Branch. This Fleet serves a practical and symbolic purpose in the Dwarven navy. Originally ordered by High King Rurik the Sixth near the end of his reign under the original guise of a spereme fleet armored with black Iron. The Fleets designs were redone under Durin the Eighth to accommodate the new technologies and ship designs with the old models either rushed, scrapped, or repurposed. The fleet completed construction in the year 1430, with 2 further commissions of the fleet to be redeveloped in 1450 and 1470, the fleet has finished redevelopment in 1490 DR. The Fleet was specifically designed to engage in large scale combat and as such comprises no ship small that a cruiser. It was to be the Pride of the Dwarven Navy and ensure any large ship conflict would result in dwarven victory. The fleet maintains a total of 63 ships, divided into, 6 battle groups, 5 of which are identical. 3 light cruisers, 3 heavy cruisers, 2 battleships, 1 carrier and 1 dreadnought. The 6th battle group retains 4 battleships, 4 dreadnoughts, 4 carriers, and 1 Moria class Super Dreadnought (Flagship). The Fleet is further supported by 6 Mithril Class Defense Stations, with one assigned to support each Battlegroup.

Its Length stands at approximately 3,000ft long, and a beam of 460 ft makes the vessel a floating fortress/city more than a comparable ship. Its armament includes hundreds of fixed Thunderer positions, dozens of Singular Light Turrets, Tens of Dual Heavy turrets, 12 Tripple Super Turrets, and 5 Quad Experimental Turrets. For defensive measures, the vessel was equipped with thousands of Volleiers to defend against small, light craft such as Flitters, and tens of thousands of Firebolts, shields, swords, axes, and other weapons for individuals to use should an attempted boarding occur. Its total capacity numbered in the hundreds of thousands and equipped with fields and farms to sustain the troops with plenty of food over its journey and allow for its use as a command ship for a fleet. The Addition of a dock for Longboats allowed the ship to serve as one man fleet to carry in invading force. Equipped with the latest propellers powered by runes and Artifact forges, allowed the ship great speed in the Water and the Ability to traverse the Cosmos. Also equipped with a sequester generator able to shield the ship and its crew from divination magic and from the visible eyes. This allows the vessel to travel anywhere unseen and undetected for as long as was needed. The Ship was also equipped with freshwater generators to provide water as needed for the crew and remove unnecessary instances of storage usage. This meant the vessel had a dramatic storage capacity and used it to store wooden vessels in case of emergency or to offload troops.
