Dwarf Air Force

The Dwarven Air Force patrols much of the Khazadkar and serves as the versatile arm armed forces. While the Navy and its branches focus on large-scale conflicts and large vessels, the Air force prides itself on efficient smaller vessels such as fighters, bombers, transports, and destroyer-sized vessels. Some examples of these include the Gyrocopter, gyrobomber, thunder brage, and blimp. The Airforce was equipped with large capital ship vessels, but they served little use in the usual patrol and were seen more as symbols of prestige and emergency use than commonplace.  The Air Force focuses on atmospheric activities and securing the safety of the skies, and for this reason, uses capital ships to defend large fortifications and or cities, screening ships to defend roads, passes, and or critical infrastructure. The Small individuals piloted and or small crew vessels would often patrol the fields, and borders and perform recon. The larger vessels of the Air Fleet are often balanced between wooden and iron, with whole fleets separated by type to maintain isolation and provide cover.    The Airforce is then split into two sub-branches; Fleet and fighter craft. The Fleet serves as the powerful defensive shield, while the Fighter crafts serve as versatile and quick-response forces for overwhelming and providing support.  This branch of the military often deals with and focuses on limited 3D combat with most combat operating in the horizontally aligned plane with vertical complications. In this scenario, fighter craft thrives and can perform devastating strikes against enemy armies and fleets.    The Gyrobomber and Gyrocopter became the symbolic image of the Airforce and Fighter branch, with the Thunerbarge and ThunderBlimp serving as symbols of the defensive capability of lighter screen class vessels. However, the recent application of propellers and the concept of using horizontal propulsion to overcome gravity have led to new prototypes focusing on speed. While still under development, some prototypes have been sent out for testing by pilots and have received moderate success, with their most useful potential being recon and rapid response times.     For those who seek to pilot fighter craft, many tests are undertaken to understand the applicant's amplitude for complex dimensional maneuvers. Those who fail these tests are restricted to atmospheric operations, while those who pass are allowed to serve aboard Space vessels and operate in the Astral sea. For this reason, this testing is often done alongside the Navy Command program due to their similarities in testing the ability both physical and mental of the potential of their applicants.
Relationship with other branches
To the Army, the Airforce offers the ability to provide important reconnaissance and strike far away targets without the need to put troops in danger and or move artillery. Outside this relationship, these two branches interact very little but retain modest respect for each other's roles.   For the Navy, its relationship is divided along the sea and Space divide. Those within the sea branch share modest respect for the Airforce for their use in patrols and ability to convey important reconnaissance data for ship weapons and tactical value. The Space branch however views the fighter crafts of the Airforce as little more than lackeys who serve aboard the larger capital carrier providing unnecessary patrols and taking up space. While these fighters perform necessary counterattacks against potential enemy fighters, their actions are seen as unnecessary by the larger Capital ship serving troops.    end
