The Forge of Fury – Chapter Four: Ovostask's Bargain
General Summary
Now summoned to appear before the Council of Sparkling Stones and make their case, Baldir went to the Hall of Sparkling Stones with the company Orreft, Hilda, Tordek, and Imbim. There the Heirs of Delzoun presented their discovery of Delzoun ruins in a nearby mountain called The Stone Tooth and proposed an expedition sponsored by Mirabar. There was much debate; members such as Agrathan Hardhammer wanted to expand Mirabar's influence to better compete with Mithral Hall while others wanted to prevent the rise of more competitors. Ultimately, the council determined that their resources were already spread too thin to indulge in such a high-risk venture. The Heirs were denied support on their quest.
However, Ovostask, who was pleased with the Heirs discoveries so far, wanted to take the gamble. The gold dragon approached the heirs outside of the hall and proposed they use a spare lair of his near The Stone Tooth as a base of operations. It would be secure, and they'd have access to his resources and intelligence. In exchange, the Heirs would share what they uncovered within the mountain and slay a rival dragon lairing nearby. The adventurers agreed to the terms, and after one more month of preparations, they set out for Blasingdell.
One day of travel later, they arrived at the mining town, snuck out the following morning, and proceeded toward Ovostask's lair. However, partway to the mine it was hidden within, the Heirs' path was blocked by a standoff between two lawless forces.

The adventurers made an appeal to the Council of Sparkling Stones. Among the council was Selin Raurym and Agrathan Hardhammer. After being rejected, Ovostask went behind the council and secretly sponsored the Heirs anyway.
Notes
- Imbim read a broadsheet detailing Dagult Neverember's return to Neverwinter and the beginning of his New Neverwinter Movement.
- Having come from Mirthal Hall, Tordek drew the ire of more than one slightly less rich council member.
- In order to escape the town, Helga presented herself and her companions as inventors looking to sell to the miners. Orreft scaled the wall instead.
