Ocean Grove

Ocean Grove is a settlement known for both a Druid Circle and a very large Temple of Tyr. The two factions live in harmony and work together. It is located on a small Peninsula south of Baldur's Gate and North of Candlekeep.

Demographics

Ocean Grove is mostly human.  There is a significant Halfling population that contributes to the town through its culinary delights and services.

Government

the town is ruled by a council chosen by members of the Temple of Tyr, The Druid Circle, and the Halflings. There are 9 members on the council consisting of 2 halflings, 3 Druid Faction Members, and 4 Tyr Faction Members.

Defences

The Temple of Tyr exclusively provides martial defense for the town.  All members of the town will come together to fight against a large threat against the town.   The Temple of Tyr holds drills regularly for the soldiers of the temple and any Halflng volunteers so that the two units may work in harmony.

Industry & Trade

The Grand Temple of Tyr is known for its music composition and performing arts.  Its a unique side of Tyr but one that both the larger Global Temple and the Town is very proud of.  The Grand Temple is also a center of learning especially for subject matter of Religion, Planes, Nature, and Geography.   Ocean Grove is located at a site of magical Upwelling in the Trackless Sea.  Therefore divine magic is easier to cast in the areas of its proximity as well as any magic based on the Water or Ice Element.

Guilds and Factions

There are four Primary factions at work in Ocean Grove. The Halflings, the Druids, and the Grand Temple are all aligned with each other and work together. The fourth faction, the Temple of Umberlee is opposed to the town.   Ocean Grove is in a standoff. It is widely believed that though the Druids may not be able to defeat the Church of Umberlee in the vicinity, the Temple of Tyr easily could. But due to the position of Ocean Grove right on the Trackless Sea, the Grand Temple suffers the priests of Umberlee because they do not want to bring the Anger of Umberlee upon the town. Provided the Church of Umberlee does not place the citizens of Ocean Grove in Danger, or harm any individual citizen, the Temple leaves them be. In the Past when the Priests of Umberlee have harmed town members of any faction, the Grand Temple has been quick to serve Justice. Anytime they do this, they call in reinforcements afterwards to guard against a retaliation from the sea.   Because of the upwelling of divine water magic, the Church of Umberlee has founded a branch here.

Natural Resources

Fish and finished products are the primary products of Ocean Grove.  The upwelling of magic in this area of the Sword Coast is also utilized as a resource for those wishing to research magic or create magic Items.

Rumours
The Temple of Umberlee is a strange presence here. Due to the proximity of the sea, the Temple and Druids leave the Temple alone.
