Carcarius and his crew fled Baldur's Gate when the Absolute attacked. He sailed off for Neverwinter just as the Nautiloids began attacking this city.
A storm wrecked his small ship off the coast on the Mere of Dead Men. Now he finds himself in Saltmarsh, amidst a local squabble that appears to be much much more.
