General Summary
The distant "bog" turned out to be a dense forest, where the stench of rot and putresence replaced the burning brimstone of the rest of the plane. As we made slow progress through the trees, we suddenly lost connection with Grim flying above the forest.
Scattered stones preceded a glowing clearing featuring a ruined chamber guarded by ghostly knights. At its centre, Yael's ghost watched over the Sword of Zariel... or so we thought. Supposed prayers to Lathander masked psychic assaults from an infernal illusionist; the ghostly knights were barbed devils in disguise. The impatient devils spoiled the trap, and a vicious battle ensued. The illusionist was slain and the devils destroyed. In the aftermath, the entire scene was revealed as an illusion, and we are faced with continue exploration of the hellish landscape in search of the true citadel where Yael kept Zariel's sword.
