Sparkinator
A rectangular metal device with two tiny metal cups on one end that throws sparks when wet. If device is used in creation/upgrade of melee weapon the following benefits apply.
Once per turn, when you make a melee attack add 1d6 lightning damage to the attack. Each device can have a number of charges equal to artificers proficiency bonus. Damage increases 1d6 per device installed. Devices can be discharged one at a time or all at the once. Once a device is empty they must be recharged before they can be used again.
If device is used in creation/upgrade to a shield the following benefits apply:
if you are hit with a lightning spell while you have a shield equipped, you gain 1 charges per attack and lightning damage to artificer is reduced by 1d6. If device is full nothing happens.
The device can be recharged by being struck by lightning, if damage received is greater than the max damage output of a fully charged device then there is a 5% chance the device breaks. or if artificer spends 1hr and succeeds a DC12 tinkering check. Upon a roll of 1 device is destroyed.
