Skrianna's Diary
This diary details the life of Skrianna Shadowdusk, scion of the Shadowdusk House. The broad strokes are that she was a younger daughter of the house who was found at a young age to have significant magical talents. She spent most of her childhood in Undermountain, learning both the ways of a wizard & a noblewoman, with the occasional trips to cities in Faerun (under assumed names, so as to hide her true family association). Her every word drips with entitlement and a craving for power.

"Honestly, I don't know HOW Xerrion & Margareste intends me to be an educated lady of the court if we barely leave Undermountain. I mean, sure, once we triumphantly return to the surface Waterdeep will be gone, but surely there will be still be parties in Baldur's Gate!"

"The twins Dezmyr & Zalthar have finally abandoned their stuffy old oaths to Torm. They aren't particularly fair to look on now, but nobody can deny they are far more effective now than they were before. I just saw Dezmyr take a sword straight through the chest with barely a blink! Being undead has its advantages, I suppose."

"Xerrion & Margaraste entered the portal, even though it's far from ready. It became stable momentarily, and they decided to seize the chance to cross over to the Far Realms to try to gain knowledge there. I...don't think they're coming back. The portal all but collapsed afterwards. Dezmyr & Zalthar have assumed command. The mages think we're years away from a truly stable portal, even with the tablet. Why won't they let me see it!?"

"Dezmyr & Zalthar are negotiating my tutelage at Dweomercore. They say it's important that a member of the family grow in the magical arts. I suppose it's only fitting that a lady gain a proper education, but honestly, I would think we could get entry into Silverymoon! I don't think I shall be going."

"They finally let me see the tablet. It is...magnificent. It whispers to me, beckoning me to know it, to understand it. The facets of its black crystal hold all the meaning of the universe...meaning that I will be able to understand in Dweomercore. It's becoming clearer to me now. I am sure once I return from the academy I'll be able to understand all its secrets...then the Far Realm shall work for the Shadowdusks. Fools on the surface fear the power of that place, but We Do Not Fear The Darkness." (the last words are underlined and in bold)
After that, Skrianna evidently joined the students at Dweomercore. She feels constrained by the restrictions placed on her by the Headmaster and views her fellow students with contempt (except for Spite, of whom she is intensely jealous and is convinced he is not the young boy he appears to be. She mentions a lover by the name of Acamar who comes from the void beyond the sky and tries to convince her to come to him in the Far Realms. She longs to finish her studies so she can return to the crystal tablet and be united with her lover, Acamar.
