Almyra
Almyra
A coastal town with a small local population and constant stream of travelers. Its harbor is always busy with ships of all sizes coming and going. Its location makes it a good stopping point for ships on the way to Neverwinter; with usual wind conditions, it takes less than a day to sail to Neverwinter from Almyra.
Almyra is most famous for being the closest town to the Nightwatcher’s Island. When the sky illuminates and the Nightwatcher invites adventurers for a visit, Almyra becomes a bustling hub. The town’s many inns and shops swell with patrons from all around the world.
Locations
The Three Brothers Tavern - A bustling tavern located adjacent to the harbor. It is the largest tavern in Almyra and always teeming with travelers. It is owned by three human brothers who once visited the Nightwatcher. They succeeded and were granted their requests. One shows exceptional strength, one exceptional intelligence, and one exceptional charisma. However, each completely lacks the other two traits.
The Dolphin Inn - A smaller inn a short walk from the harbor. A large wooden dolphin, carved from the stump of an oak tree, sits beside the main entrance. The innkeeper is a cranky old gnome named Hilda.
Major Tom’s General Store - Major Tom, a half-elf and veteran of several wars, is the store owner. He is generally pleasant but can become snippy quickly. Tom’s shop is particularly renowned for their homemade rum.
Fonz’s Bronze - A modest blacksmith shop located near the harbor.
Tanner (name unknown) - An experienced tanner known for their work with rare furs and hides. They are able to work with dragon hide, direwolf furs, and more.
Happenings
The gang first traveled to Almyra after the appearance of the Night Watcher. It was there that they met Theo at the Three Brothers Tavern. With a new member intact, the group hired the White Lily to take them to the Night Watcher’s island.
The party returned to Almyra after delivering the Necromancer to the Nightwatcher’s Island. On the way back, Faurgar was taken overboard and underwater by a mysterious sea creature. Aura was attacked by assassins at The Dolphin Inn, which she was able to overcome with help from her allies.
The party returned here with Galure in search of Faurgar. They hired a ship called the Callypso, captained by the human Captain Thornbeard, to take them to sea in search of their druid friend. Theo traded a large emerald to rent the ship for a fortnight.
When the party made it back to Almyra with Faurgar, they met Gordon. This human, with his human guards Carol and Darryl, recruited the group to head to The Yawning Portal over drinks at The Dolphin Inn.
Loose Ends
Theo promised Sokka that he would bring him a bottle of Major Tom's rum to help the water genasi pass time aboard The White Lily (aka The Black Pearl). Theo will need to return to Almyra and figure out a way to find the ghostly ship.
Kettath dropped off raw dragon hide at a local tanner to have it treated. He still needs to pick it up.
