Temple of Honor

Styled with architecture of Elvish origins, it is believed that the Temple of Honor was originally constructed along with several other of the oldest buildings in Waterdeep. One of the first structures built on the Rise, the Temple of Honor still bears reliefs and petroglyphs of what are believed to be Correllon and Sehanine, as well as a number of other scenes featuring prominent displays of nature. Such depictions are greatly aged, however, leaving the truth of the original creators a mystery. However, the standout feature of the temple is its reinforced arms and braces that allow for a massive collection of stained glass windows that have taken on many different iterations through centuries.   For the most part, the Temple was preserved and honored as a holy site, left as more of a landmark than an actual place of worship. However, that sentiment changed shortly after the War of Tyranny, at which time it was decided the temple was to be repurposed as a temple honoring gods of honor and valor. While Bahamut was the first choice given the god's direct involvement in the outcome of the battle against Tiamat, in accordance with the Platinum Dragon's disdain for grandiose and unnecessary displays honoring him, Torm was selected as a joint deity for worship at the temple as he is also Bahamut's closest ally.   In the years following Tiamat's defeat, the Temple has seen a large influx of new worshippers of both Bahamut's faithful and Tormites.  Thus far, ranking Cardinal Corvix Ironscale of the Talons of Justice presides over the temple, and conducts its affairs while managing clergy, worshippers, and expanding the congregation of both Bahamut and Torm.  No official representative from the church of Torm has chosen to stand beside him in managing the temple, but thus far, all consider his representation of both deities to be fair and admirable, even as an outspoken chosen of the Platinum Dragon.  Under his leadership, the Temple of Honor has been restored to its former glory, its definitive stained glass artistry now depicting a beautiful display of both Torm and Bahamut that attracts both worshippers and patrons alike.  Traditional ceremonies are held once a week, with musical worship conducted twice daily.  Also founded by Corvix, the choir is known in Waterdeep as the Honor Compline, and is known to perform many songs honoring all goodly deities.  Honor and respect is always paid to Bahamut and Torm as a sacred act, but all are welcome to listen and participate in each performance.
Since repurposed to honor the Platinum Dragon and the Loyal Fury, only one hostile incursion has been made against Corvix, his congregation, and the church itself.  A renegade cult of Demigorgon's followers emerged from the underdark beneath Mount Waterdeep and descended on the populace of the Rise, focusing on the temple itself as they attempted to desecrate the holy place.  It is said that Corvix brandished a platinum morning star and inspired great resolve among both the watch and citizens who chose to take up arms against the invaders.  Leading the charge, he pushed the cultists back from the temple grounds and into Mount Waterdeep, where the Watch then assumed command of the defense.  Corvix and his clergy then tended the wounded, turning the temple into a temporary infirmary for anyone else caught in the sudden conflict.
