Session 1: First Steps in Saltmarsh and a Haunted House

General Summary

The party first entered Saltmarsh and explored the city. Wandering to several stores and markets they find themselves at the Green Market. A courier comes delivering a letter. The letter is addressed to Orca stating they should go to one of the taverns to talk to a stranger to gain information in regards to a haunted house. The letter is addressed from "a friend". After meeting with the stranger and paying his weight in beer, he describes a house down the coast that is haunted. He entered the house to gain riches but was scared away by the haunting noises.

The party then made their way south to the haunted house. After fighting weasels and giant snakes they enter the house. They aren't immediately scared away. Upon exploring the home they find a man tied and gagged, Ned. Ned continuously tries to turn the group away from exploring and to leave the house. The party proceeds forward and goes to the basement to find a bandit and scouts. Initiate combat. Ned turns on the group and is quickly slain. After combat a new person, Kyra comes down the stairs looking for jewels, and joins the party. The party makes their way through secret passages and dark tunnels to find Sanbalet, the leader of a smuggling operation. After clearing out the tunnels they find a dingy on a small beach that lead from the tunnels.
