Normar

A dank fog perpetually hangs over a small peninsula jutting out into the Darink sea. Any sunlight that attempts to burn the fog away simply cuts thin ribbons of weak light through the stubborn haze. The only indication the peninsula even exists to seafaring ships on most days is the line of five lighthouses built on a string of artificial islands a half mile out from the shoreline, sitting just inside the edge of the fog. Ancient shipwrecks litter the seafloor between the lighthouses and the shore, and sailors often claim to hear the voices of the dead when the fog is at its thickest.

Geography

Flat and rocky, the soil on Normar varies from thin at best to nonexistent at worst. The shoreline around the entire peninsula is composed of gravel beaches that simply slide under the sea's edge. Boulders dot the landscape, left behind by the glacier that carved out the peninsula eons ago.   No fresh water sources exist naturally, other than the fog, dew, and the occasional rainfall.

Fauna & Flora

The natural flora of Normar is dominated by mosses, lichens, hardy grasses, and the occasional stubborn scrub bush. In the rare places with viable soil, trees that can tolerate constant low light levels grow.   Beetles, small moths, millipedes, and centipedes are a common sight on the ground. These act as a supplemental food source for some of the smaller bird species that call Normar home, though most of the birds here stick close to the shoreline and get all their food from the sea. Other predators - primarily foxes - take ready advantage of the abundant bird population.   Fish, crabs, eels, and mollusks are the most commonly found creatures in the waters surrounding the peninsula. Thick patches of seaweed grow in the spots that get the highest amount of light.
