Censor

Censor is an intelligent rapier crafted by the Sign to defeat the Oblix located in the Spine. In 902 DR, Knight Commander Reynold Chamberlin served in Inkwell as a young man and felt unprepared to defeat the Oblex. As he rose in the ranks, he championed the creation of Censor. He reasoned that the weapon should be intelligent enough to pass on the collected wisdom of the Oblex and powerful to protect the wielder from its effects.   Censor was crafted by the Turmish weaponsmith Mariano Zamorano and enchanted by Dalarian mage Alura Jenkins. His intellect is an infusion of copies of 500 great works.   Censor embodies the values of the Sign. He is both curious and cautious. He needs to learn new things, but his first instinct immediately to do a threat assessment. One of Censor's favorite games is to deconstruct a catastrophe. Given his age and isolation, he has replayed is favorite catastrophes over and an over again. People that are able to present him new information about his favorite topics quickly grow in his esteem.   For the vast majority of its existence, Censor has been hidden away. This irks him to no end and he has long advocated opening the cap and drawing out the Oblex. Knights are prepared prior to their arrival that Censor will take this line of reasoning and are expressly forbidden from doing as he advocates.   During his time in the Spine, Censor has been hidden in many spaces. His favorite was beneath the stones of St. Isidore the Incorruptible because he could hear the prayers of the faithful everyday. His least favorite is his current home in the cell of the Sexton.   His favorite knight was Simon Burroughs who secretly trained with him frequently and often read Censor's favorite books aloud. He disliked a nameless knight that checked on him once during his tenure and who served over 40 years in his capacity.
