The Great Conjunctor

A marvelous building only found within Cape Zaffre, the Conjunctor is built specifically to house a fascinating machine capable of facilitating long-distance communication through the use of mirrors.

Connecting Hearts and Minds

The Great Conjunctor becomes a beacon of hope and togetherness, bringing people closer despite the vastness of their world. Its magical mirrors foster a sense of unity and belonging, reminding the townspeople that they are never truly alone, even when separated by great distances.

The Building's Architecture

The Great Conjunctor stands tall near the heart of Cape Zaffre, its exterior adorned with intricate designs of intertwining mirrors in wavy patterns - akin to funhouse mirrors - that are aglitter during the day. The inside is constructed with a blend of shimmering sea stones, driftwood, and the luminescent shells that pay homage to the town's maritime heritage and its magical inhabitants.   The machine itself stands in a large cylindrical room known as the Chamber of Mirrors. The roof is domed and mosaiced to represent the constellations above at the moment the building was constructed.   Echoing and enchanting, the machine hums and whirls with space enough to stretch out its arms, each one on a spinning axis that seems to trace the stars above - as was the machines original design intention.

Constellates: Star-traced Mirrors

When it was discovered that the stars had a magic of their own that interconnected them to one another, forming constellations, this magic was traced on the mirrors, forming constellations between far off cities and villages. These mirrors are made in pairs, often lovingly referred to as siblings, and are sent to each town willing to recieve one, enabling long distance communication.

Sending a Message

To communicate with someone across a long distance, an individual enters the Chamber of Mirrors and asks the conductor of the machine to send a message to an individual, specifying a time to meet. On that day, both parties stand before a designated mirror that corresponds from region to region. Once the mirror is activated, both parties can see each other and speak freely to each other.   The Symbolism of The Great Conjunctor The use of mirrors represents the notion that we are all interconnected, and our words and emotions can travel great distances to reach those we hold dear. Indeed, The Great Conjunctor is a celebration of communication and understanding. It fosters meaningful connections between loved ones separated by oceans or mountains, friends reuniting after long journeys, and adventurers seeking counsel from wise mentors who reside far away.
