Count

Counts are nobles in the Imperium, higher in rank than a viscounts and below dukes. Like a viscount, a count has a demesne of two or three worlds within a subsector, and at least one is an important or high-population world, and the title is usually associated with that world. Counts in the high nobility recieve a fief of about 10,000km² on a world within their demesne.
Many counts have great responsibilities within the subsector and sector government, and wield the Imperial Mandate on all the worlds of their county. A count may be assigned to worlds that have no other high nobles, and may be the only high noble responsible for their worlds.
The feminine form of the title is countess. A viscount is referred to by their title, followed by their given name or by the name of one of the worlds in their demesne. "Count Blogs" or "Countess Exeter". A count is also addressed as "Lord" or "Your Ladyship".
