Fictitiomancy

For those curious, Fictitiomancy is an unusual magick, with its roots in legend. Literally, that is. Fictitiomancy is a magick that makes manifest the beings and powers written of in story form. These mythical things act in accordance with the stories they hail from, and have personalities, memories, and in some cases, their own world that they hail from.   The earliest known records of Fictitiomancy are from a legend themselves, of when Krok, Turspan God of Kings, was presented with the Legend of Sourne and the Three Wishes by the Red Bard. Krok was so impressed with the tale, that he granted the bard and her legend this power. Since, the magick has been passed down in bardic tradition and the legends themselves for eras.   Those who study the magick, especially those who find themselves befriending the legends, have left behind strange writings. A commonality persists among them, of questioning the true nature of the magick: Does it conjure a facsimile of the legend, with no depth beyond their face, or does it connect the caster to the world of the legend itself? The most bold among them go even further: Could our world merely be another storybook, too?
