Berserker

Berserker

Blood. Those who encounter the berserkers always use that word foremost in their depiction of the fearsome warriors. Armed with weapons of rage and armored in the fear of their enemies, a berserker cuts a staggering picture on any battlefield. Ending most conflicts drenched in blood, either their enemy’s or their own, berserkers fight knowing that each victory comes at a cost. Ruthlessly effective, and infinitely reckless, the rage-fueled berserkers continue to carve their bloody paths through history.

Fury

At 1st level, you learn how to channel pain into anger, and anger into power. You gain the ability to channel fury. Whenever you take damage, you gain one point of fury, stacking a maximum of 5 fury at 1st level. Fury increases the damage dealt by all of your attacks by +1 per point. Fury lasts until you spend one round neither dealing nor taking damage. Each time you receive healing, you lose one point of fury. As you gain berserker levels, you gain a higher fury maximum, as listed in the class table.

Bloody Frenzy

At 1st level, you also learn how to effectively dispatch many foes at once. Each time you land a killing blow, you may immediately move up to half of your movement speed and make one additional attack.

Onslaught

At 2nd level, you have learned that your fury can also heighten your other physical attributes. Fury now grants 5 additional feet of movement when you reach 5 points of fury. When you reach 5th level in this class, you gain an additional 10 feet of movement with 10 stacks of fury. Additionally, while you have any fury, you can make an unarmed attack as a bonus action regardless of the weapons you are holding. Berserkers bring down their foes in any way possible, including bites, headbutts, kicks, elbows, and knees.

Ignore Pain

At 3rd level, you have learned to use your fury to keep yourself from feeling the full brunt of the damage your body takes. You gain a damage reduction = your current fury /2 (rounded down) to all bludgeoning, piercing and slashing damage.

Bloody Horror

At 4th level, you have learned that your ability to fight till the end is a weapon in and of itself. Whenever you are reduced to half your hit point maximum or lower, you can use Bloody Horror as a bonus action. Any creature of your choice within 30 feet of you must make a DC = (8+ your proficiency + your Constitution modifier) Wisdom saving throw or be frightened of you for 1 minute. Creatures can repeat the save at the end of each of their turns. Once you use this feature, you must finish a short or long rest before using it again.

Mayhem

At 5th level, you have reached full mastery over the power of your fury. Whenever you have 10 stacks of fury, you gain an additional attack whenever you take the Attack action. Additionally, you can expend 3 fury when you hit with an attack to force the target to make a DC = (8+ your proficiency + your Strength modifier) Strength saving throw or be knocked prone by the viciousness of your attack. Creatures more than one size category larger than you have advantage on the save.

Undying Rage

At 5th level, you have become a true berserker. When reduced to 0 hit points while possessing any fury, you remain conscious. While in this state, you must attack a creature every turn as you become blinded by rage. You select a creature of your choice that you can reach with your normal movement speed and attack it. If no desirable targets are within range, you must attack a friendly creature. If there are no creatures within range, you fall unconscious and make death saves as normal. While in this state, at the end of every turn, you lose one fury. Additionally, each time you would take damage, you instead lose one fury. Being healed while in this state restores health as normal and restores your character’s normal sanity but removes all of your fury. You fall unconscious and make death saves as normal if you lose all of your fury.
