Snorting Ragh

Snorting raghs are large herbivorous animals known for their double row of horns along the top of their armored snout. They are one of the larger herbivore megafauna species that have few known predators.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Snorting raghs are known for their four stumpy legs and double row of horns along their snout. Their skin has a sandstone brown color and leathery texture. They grow thick plates of keratin over broad areas of their body which act as a tough, natural armor. These plates come in a variety of colors that are used to define various ragh subspecies.   Unusual to the snorting ragh is that their double row of horns are hollow and act as breathing tubes. Ragh herds develop particular melodies that are unique to each herd. Male ragh also use the horns as a means of defense. The horns are rigid and can spear a victim but ragh can use the horns to suck in and expel small rocks at high velocity.

Ecology and Habitats

Raghs are found in dry, grassy savannas.
