Primal Fury Prestige Class

Description:     Harnessing the raw power of nature and the primal spirits of animals, Primal Fury Summoners are barbarians who have embraced their shifter heritage to its fullest. They channel the essences of various animals during their rage, gaining unique abilities and enhancing their combat prowess. This class is for those who seek to blur the line between the ferocity of a beast and the cunning of a humanoid.

Class Features:

  Level 3: Feral Empathy  
  • Acts like a constant "Speak with Animals" spell, allowing communication with animals.
  • Gain advantage on Charisma checks to influence animal behavior.
  Level 5: Primal Summoning & Spiritual Guidance   Primal Summoning: Summon two spirit animals during rage, choosing from Bear, Wolf, Eagle, or Serpent spirits. Each spirit grants specific bonuses and uses established stat blocks, with resistance to all damage types except psychic.   Bear Spirit:
  • Summons: Two spirit bears.
  • Stat Block: Use a modified Brown Bear stat block.
  • Role: Tank and frontline combatant, providing extra muscle and durability.
Wolf Spirit:
  • Summons: Two spirit wolves.
  • Stat Block: Use a modified Wolf stat block.
  • Role: Pack tactics and crowd control, flanking enemies and providing opportunities for allies
Eagle Spirit:
  • Summons: Two spirit eagles.
  • Stat Block: Use a modified Eagle stat block.
  • Role: Aerial reconnaissance and harassment, attacking from above.
  • Special: The barbarian can use their sight to gain a bird’s-eye view of the battlefield, enhancing strategic awareness.
Serpent Spirit:
  • Summons: Two spirit serpents.
  • Stat Block: Use a modified Snake stat block, possibly a Constrictor or Poisonous Snake for higher levels.
  • Role: Stealth and ambush, capable of surprising enemies or guarding key positions.
Spiritual Guidance: Once per long rest, consult with spirit animals for advice or insight, gaining advantage on the next related check.   Level 7: Rage of the Wild & Primal Resilience   Rage of the Wild:
  • Emit an aura during rage, providing bonuses to allies within 10 feet of the spirit animals. The aura's effect varies based on the chosen spirit.
Bear Spirit:
  • Barbarian Bonus: Increase in maximum HP during rage, persisting until the next long rest.
  • Aura Effect: Allies within range gain resistance to magical slashing, piercing, and bludgeoning damage.
Wolf Spirit:
  • Barbarian Bonus: Gains the "Pounce" ability – moving 20 feet straight towards a target allows the barbarian to knock down the target with a successful hit if the target fails a Strength saving throw.
  • Aura Effect: Allies within range gain a +2 bonus to attack rolls.
Eagle Spirit:
  • Barbarian Bonus: Gains the ability to fly at their walking speed during rage.
  • Aura Effect: Allies within range gain a +2 bonus to initiative rolls, applicable even if the barbarian enters rage during combat.
Serpent Spirit:
  • Barbarian Bonus: Can summon the Serpent Spirit outside of combat without expending rage.
  • Aura Effect: Allies within range gain advantage on Dexterity (Stealth) checks and saving throws against poison.
Deer Spirit:
  • Barbarian Bonus: Gains "Enhanced Danger Sense" ability, allowing them to dodge all attacks that require a dexterity saving throw taking half on a failed save or zero damage if successful.(similar to the Barbarian class feature).
  • Aura Effect: Allies within range gain advantage on Dexterity saving throws.
Primal Resilience:
  • Immune to difficult terrain created by natural phenomena and gain expertise in Survival checks.
  Level 10: Primal Overload   Primal Overload: Transform into a more animalistic form matching your current animal spirit for one minute, dealing double damage and expanding critical hit range to 17-20, but taking double damage. You may use this feature twice per long rest.   Level 13: Enhanced Primal Summoning   Enhanced Primal Summoning: Summon an additional spirit animal during rage (total of three), with increased bonuses for the barbarian.   Level 14: Rage of the Wild Improvement   Rage of the Wild Improvement: The aura range increases to 30 feet.   Level 18: Nature's Wrath   Nature's Wrath:
  • Transformation: Upon activation, the barbarian becomes more animalistic, while their spirit animals gain a humanoid appearance.
  • Shared Vulnerabilities: Both the barbarian and the spirit animals take double damage from incoming attacks and have disadvantage on Dexterity and Strength saving throws.
  • Shared Immunities: Immune to effects requiring Wisdom or Charisma saving throws.
  • Expanded Critical Range: Can crit on a natural roll of 1-3 or 17-20.
Specific Animal Abilities   Bear Form:
  • New Ability: "Maul" - Hits all enemies within a 15ft cone in front of the barbarian or their allies.
Wolf Form:
  • New Ability: "Rend Armor" - Attacks lower the AC of any creature hit.
Eagle Form:
  • New Ability: "Eagle's Cry" - Rallies all allies within 60ft, granting them temporary HP equal to the barbarian's level + proficiency bonus.
  • Enhanced Movement: Gain "Fly-by" ability, allowing the barbarian to move without provoking opportunity attacks.
Serpent Form:
  • New Ability: "Venomous Strike" - Attacks apply a potent poison that bypasses immunity.
Deer Form:
  • New Ability: "Stampede" - Summons a stampede of deer, dealing significant damage to anything in range that fails a Dexterity save.
